Fatal Collision in Kakinada: Driver Burned Alive, Two Injured

Kakinada, Jan 29: A tragic road accident occurred early Thursday morning on the Kathipudi National Highway. The collision between two container trucks resulted in one driver being burned alive and left two others injured.

A container truck carrying aqua feed from Bhimavaram to Mulapeta was turning at the Kathipudi junction when another container truck, loaded with cotton waste bundles from Kolkata to Chennai, collided with it.

The impact triggered a massive fire, engulfing the front portions of both vehicles. The cotton truck driver, identified as Kamal Sheikh (43) from Kolkata, was trapped inside and burned alive. Two others sustained injuries in the accident. Firefighters rushed to the scene and carried out rescue operations. Prathipadu CI Surya Apparao confirmed the identity of the deceased driver. Annavaram SI Sriharibabu inspected the accident site. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
