After a very long time, Former Minister Kodali Nani came before the media and was displaying a trace of aggression. Nani has disappeared from his constituency and AP Politics ever since the election defeat fearing arrest.
Kodali Nani fears retaliation by the TDP for all the badmouthing he did when YSR Congress was in Power. He underwent a bypass surgery and was hoping the Government would not come after him on medical grounds.
He is living in Hyderabad these days leaving YSR Congress cadres in Gudivada high and dry. But then, Nani appeared at Ambati Rambabu‘s residence in Guntur the other day and surprised everyone.
He even tried to behave aggressively saying that no one fears Red Book or Yellow.
It appears that this aggression stems from the fear of missing out. Until now, Nani wants to save himself from arrest but he seems to be feeling he is missing a chance to become a Hero by missing out in action or by avoiding arrest.
Until recently, Ambati Rambabu was a nobody in YSR Congress. Nobody would care him except for Pressmeets with Filmy Dialogues. But suddenly they are projecting him as Kapu Tiger and he is having his moment of glory by non-stop media coverage and back-to-back consolation visits by the leaders.
Probably, Nani feels there is no harm in getting arrested as many YSR Congress leaders came out untouched and so is fancying his chances. Maybe this is the confidence the TDP Government has given for the YSR Congress leaders.
Following the 2024 elections, the former Minister was booked by the Gudivada police in June 2024 for criminal intimidation (Section 506 IPC) and trespass after volunteers alleged he pressured them to resign.
Additionally, a case was filed in July 2024 regarding the alleged misuse of beverages godowns, and he has faced scrutiny over a ration rice scam from his tenure as Civil Supplies Minister. While a Lookout Circular was briefly issued to prevent him from leaving the country, the High Court later provided relief by directing police to follow Section 41A protocols instead of immediate arrest.
After the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections (held in May, results in June), several cases were filed against Kodali Nani.
In November 2024, a law student filed a complaint/case against him over his objectionable remarks on political leaders.
No new cases appear reported in 2025 or early this year. There was no progress in the old cases too. The inactivity is majorly because of his health issues but now things may change.
