Hyderabad, Dec 26 (UNI) K T Rama Rao, Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the language used by him recently.
Talking to the media at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, KTR said he did not wish to insult the Chief Minister personally but questioned the repeated remarks made against K Chandrashekar Rao, whom he described as the leader who brought Telangana and was elected Chief Minister twice by the people. “If someone insults such a leader, wouldn’t a son feel angry?” he asked.
Alleging that the Chief Minister’s statements reflected frustration, KTR said a person occupying such a constitutional position should speak with dignity and responsibility. He criticised the use of aggressive and abusive language while responding to questions on the implementation of promises, stating that it was unbecoming of the office of the Chief Minister.
KTR remarked that he himself grew up on the streets of Hyderabad and was well aware of street language in multiple languages, but said he was deliberately restraining himself out of respect for the institution of the Chief Minister’s office, not for the individual occupying it. “We are keeping quiet for the sake of the chair,” he said.
Referring to recent political developments, KTR said even the brief public appearance and press interaction of KCR had unsettled the Chief Minister. He claimed that the Chief Minister appeared rattled merely by KCR coming out and speaking to the media, and questioned how he would react if KCR were to attend the Assembly.
