New Delhi: MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said visa matters fall under the sovereign domain of each country, and that the government continues to engage with the US side to minimise disruptions faced by Indian nationals.
The Ministry of External Affairs Friday said the government has received several representations from Indian nationals facing problems in rescheduling their H-1B visa appointments. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, at a media briefing, said, “The government of India remains actively engaged with the US side to minimise the disruptions caused to our nationals.”
Jaiswal said, “India has flagged the issue with the US authorities in New Delhi and Washington, DC, adding that many people have remained stranded for extended periods, affecting families and children’s education.
Jaiswal said visa matters fall under the sovereign domain of each country, and that the government continues to engage with the US side to minimise disruptions faced by Indian nationals.
H-1B visa appointments abruptly postponed
This comes as hundreds of H-1B visa holders, who had travelled back to India to renew their permits, have been left stranded as their appointments were abruptly postponed to next year by the US consular offices.
