Telangana a Global Gateway, Not Just a National Passage: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Asserting a bold economic trajectory for the state, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, declared his vision to transform Telangana into a global gateway and scale its economy to $1 trillion by 2034, and $3 trillion by 2047.

Addressing the state after unfurling the national flag at the Parade Grounds in Hyderabad to mark the 12th Telangana State Formation Day, the Chief Minister officially unveiled the comprehensive “Telangana Rising – 2047” master plan.

The Chief Minister began his address by paying rich floral tributes to the martyrs at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial in Gun Park. He noted that June 2 is a deeply emotional occasion to reflect on the decades-long struggle for self-respect, freedom, and social justice.

In a sharp take on past regimes, Reddy stated that the state’s future had previously been dictated by the “whims and ideas of a select few individuals.” He credited the people for electing a democratic “People’s Government” that defeated authoritarian forces and feudal mindsets. He also expressed deep gratitude to former Prime Minister late Manmohan Singh and former UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the long-cherished dream of separate statehood.

Detailing the milestones under his administration, the Chief Minister highlighted that agriculture remains the top priority in the new 2047 policy document, intending to build a robust “Rural Agriculture Regional Economy.”

Reddy announced that Telangana recorded an impressive 236.87 lakh metric tonnes of foodgrain production in 2025–26, with the state accounting for a massive 60% of the country’s total Yasangi paddy procurement this season. He noted that Rs. 20,616 crore had been spent to clear crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh, liberating 25 lakh farmers from debt.

Addressing critical infrastructure, he committed to reviving the long-pending Pranahita-Chevella project, stating he had recently initiated talks with the Maharashtra government, while also fast-tracking restoration works at the damaged Kaleshwaram project barrages (Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla).

The Chief Minister outlined ambitious targets for women’s self-help groups, aiming to transform one crore women into millionaires by scaling up interest-free loan allocations to Rs. 1 lakh crore. He stated that through the Mahalakshmi free bus travel scheme, women had successfully saved roughly Rs. 10,000 crore over the last 30 months.

Responding to the aspirations of the youth, Reddy highlighted that 67,763 job vacancies were filled in record time without legal complications. He announced that the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) will release another massive wave of fresh job recruitment notifications before the end of this month.

Acknowledging the intense summer heatwave gripping Hyderabad, the Chief Minister had advanced the morning parade timing to prevent public exhaustion. Demonstrating caution for the massive gathering, Reddy cut his scheduled 30-minute speech slightly short, advising citizens to stay hydrated and take adequate precautions against the sweltering temperatures before concluding the official celebrations.
