BRS Will Fight for People’s Rights on the Streets: KTR

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress government during a highly anticipated ‘Meet the Press’ event held at the Hyderabad Media House on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Marking a shift in the party’s post-election strategy, KTR declared that the BRS is transitioning into an aggressive opposition mode to hold the current administration accountable for its unfulfilled electoral promises.

Addressing a packed room of journalists, KTR pulled no punches when evaluating the performance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s administration over the past several months.

“The grand promises made during the elections—the six guarantees that were supposed to change lives—have completely stalled,” KTR asserted. He pointed out that key welfare schemes, including the Rythu Bharosa financial assistance for farmers and the promised enhanced pensions, are mired in bureaucratic delays and financial mismanagement.

He alleged that the state’s economy is being pushed into debt simply to fund public relations campaigns rather than actual ground-level development. “The people of Telangana are already feeling a sense of buyer’s remorse,” he added.

Responding to a flurry of questions regarding ongoing investigations into past BRS infrastructure projects, including the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, KTR dismissed the actions as mere political vendetta.

“We are not afraid of inquiries, committees, or notices. The Congress government is using investigative agencies as a smoke screen to deflect from its own failures. Instead of focus-shifting and running political witch-hunts against opposition leaders, the Chief Minister should focus on governance, water security, and managing the intense heatwave currently gripping our state,” KTR stated firmly.

When asked about the recent defection of certain party leaders to rival outfits, the BRS working president remained unfazed, describing it as a temporary phase of political churning.

He outlined the party’s immediate roadmap, which focuses on massive grassroots organizational restructuring. KTR announced that the BRS leadership will embark on a state-wide tour starting next week to directly connect with village-level cadres, address local grievances, and spearhead public agitations wherever the government fails to deliver.

“Power comes and goes, but our commitment to the soul of Telangana is permanent. If this government continues to ignore the youth, the farmers, and the working class, the BRS will not hesitate to take the fight directly to the streets,” KTR concluded.
