Actress Sreeleela’s mother rubbishes rumours linking her daughter with Cricketer Tilak Varma

Hyderabad: Dr. Swarnalatha, a noted gynecologist and mother of popular Tollywood actress Sreeleela, has firmly dismissed the viral social media rumors linking her daughter romantically to young Indian cricketer Tilak Varma, calling the speculation completely false and baseless.

The statement comes after a wave of intense online gossip claimed that the Guntur Kaaram actress and the Mumbai Indians left-handed batter had been seeing each other for the past year.

Addressing the media, Dr. Swarnalatha expressed disappointment over how ordinary, public coincidences are frequently spun into elaborate relationship narratives online without any factual backing.

The dating whispers initially gained momentum after both Sreeleela and Tilak Varma happened to visit the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala with their respective families around the same time during the Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations in December 2025.

The rumors intensified during the current cricket season when Sreeleela attended a T20 match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, where an online video surfaced showing a member of her entourage wearing a jersey linked to Tilak. Around the same time, Dr. Swarnalatha was spotted in the VIP stands during an IPL match in Dharamshala, which internet users quickly connected to the cricketer.

Trashing the reports, Dr. Swarnalatha clarified that these instances were purely coincidental and that the two individuals have never even interacted.

“There is not even an iota of truth in reports claiming that Sreeleela and Tilak Varma have been seeing each other. It is purely a figment of imagination. The two have never even met or spoken to each other in real life,” she stated.

Dr. Swarnalatha also took the opportunity to address older, recurring rumors that had linked Sreeleela to Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan after she signed a prominent Hindi project under director Anurag Basu.

She revealed that the underlying connection between the families was entirely professional and medical, rather than romantic. “Kartik Aaryan’s mother and I are both gynecologists, and we meet professionally because of our mutual medical background. Unfortunately, social media unfairly spins stories out of entirely unrelated events,” she explained.

According to her family, Sreeleela’s daily schedule leaves absolutely no room for relationships. The 24-year-old actress is currently pulling double duty, balancing her hectic film commitments—including upcoming projects like Dhanush 55—with her demanding medical education.

“Right now, her concentration is entirely on her studies and films. Whenever she gets free time from film shoots, she spends it preparing for her upcoming NEET-PG examination scheduled for June,” Dr. Swarnalatha added.

She concluded by stating that marriage and personal relationships are nowhere on the horizon for the actress, estimating that it will be at least another five to six years before the family even begins to consider such personal milestones.
