Amaravathi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to embark on a highly critical official visit to New Delhi, setting the stage for a series of high-level meetings aimed at accelerating state development, securing international investments, and resolving crucial water issues. Departing from Hyderabad in the morning, the Chief Minister’s jam-packed itinerary reflects a strategic push to align central assistance with Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious economic agenda.
The official itinerary begins with a key political meeting as Chief Minister Naidu is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah at 11:30 AM to discuss essential state-related administrative matters, developmental projects, and financial assistance. Following this, the Chief Minister will pivot to crucial resource management talks with Union Minister for Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil. During this meeting, Naidu is expected to raise several long-standing water issues, including the state’s persistent demand for a dedicated water tribunal to oversee Godavari river allocations. He is also anticipated to voice AP’s concerns regarding neighboring Telangana’s Sammakka Saralamma project on the Godavari, alongside Karnataka’s plans to increase the Almatti Dam’s storage capacity on the Krishna River.
Turning the focus toward economic growth and capital building in the afternoon, representatives from the World Bank are scheduled to meet with the Chief Minister at 3:00 PM. This meeting is expected to center on securing international funding structures and loans essential for the mega-development of the capital city, Amaravati, alongside other key infrastructure initiatives.
Later in the evening, at 4:00 PM, Chief Minister Naidu will attend the prestigious Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Business Summit at the Hotel Taj Palace. Addressing the summit, he is expected to pitch Andhra Pradesh as a premier destination for global and national investments, highlighting the state’s investor-friendly policies and rapid infrastructure push. Rounding out his busy schedule, the Chief Minister will also hold discussions with NITI Aayog members, including S. Mahendra Dev, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, to strategize on developmental and macroeconomic priorities. The Chief Minister will stay in the national capital overnight to conclude his administrative follow-ups before returning.
