Visakhapatnam: Renowned dancer and Tollywood choreographer Surya Prakash, popularly known as Pandu Master, sustained severe injuries in a horrific road accident near Anandapuram in Visakhapatnam district during the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
The accident occurred on the national highway at Lothagalavanipalem. According to local police reports, Pandu Master and his dance troupe were returning in a car after performing at a local temple festival (Ammavari Utsavalu) in Tagarapuvalasa.
While traveling on the highway, one of the team members in the car began feeling motion sickness and needed to vomit. Responding to the situation, the driver pulled over and parked the vehicle safely on the side of the road. Pandu Master also stepped out of the car and was standing near the rear of the vehicle.
At that exact moment, a speeding Bolero pickup van loaded with poultry crashed violently into the stationary car from behind, directly hitting Pandu Master. The impact was so severe that it heavily damaged the car and threw the choreographer onto the tarmac.
Local residents and fellow troupe members rushed to his aid and immediately alerted the authorities. Pandu Master, who suffered severe fractures and major bleeding in both of his legs, was rushed to a nearby private hospital in Visakhapatnam. Doctors are currently providing emergency medical treatment, and his condition is being closely monitored. Three other team members reportedly sustained minor, superficial injuries.
The Anandapuram police arrived at the spot shortly after the crash, seized the involved vehicles, and shifted them to the police station. Preliminary police investigations suggest that over-speeding and driver fatigue (falling asleep at the wheel) on the part of the poultry van driver caused the near-fatal collision. A formal case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway.
As news of the accident spread, prominent figures from the Telugu television and film fraternity, along with thousands of fans, took to social media to pray for the talented dancer’s swift recovery.
