Hyderabad: Signaling a massive theatrical opening, Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s highly anticipated sports-action drama Peddi has hit the ground running. By the close of its “Day 0” window on Wednesday night, June 3, 2026, the film amassed a staggering Rs. 35 crore gross worldwide solely through advanced ticket sales and high-profile paid premiere screenings.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film marks a crucial box office test for Ram Charan as a solo lead, and early figures indicate that the audience’s enthusiasm is matching the pre-release hype.
A massive chunk of the Day 0 momentum was generated in international circuits, particularly across North America. Despite competing head-to-head for theater screens against major Hollywood summer releases, Peddi shattered expectations by breaching the $1.25 million mark in advance premiere sales across the United States and Canada. Distributed by Prathyangira Cinemas, the film saw intensive ticket sales in standard digital layouts after premium and large-format screens were largely occupied, proving the actor’s massive overseas pull.
Telugu States Push Domestic Pre-Sales
Back home, the advance booking window witnessed a dramatic surge late Tuesday evening after the Telangana government officially gave the green light for ticket price hikes and special premiere shows, matching permissions already granted in Andhra Pradesh. For the special June 3 previews, tickets were priced up to Rs. 600, resulting in immediate sell-outs in key hubs like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam.
According to data compiled by industry tracker Sacnilk, the domestic advance bookings registered roughly Rs. 12.66 crore in raw ticket sales. When accounting for block bookings and corporate theater allocations, the total final domestic pre-sale tally reached Rs. 22.11 crore by the time the night premiere curtains rolled up.
Andhra Pradesh: Remained the dominant market, contributing over Rs. 8.7 crore gross.
Telangana: Registered a swift Rs. 4 crore following the late approval of shows.
Karnataka: Emerged as the strongest non-Telugu territory, pulling in an impressive Rs. 1.25 crore in advance bookings.
Other Markets: Response in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Northern Hindi belt remained relatively modest during the pre-sale phase.
Eyes Set on a Rs. 100 Crore Day 1 Opening
With over 1 million tickets sold across platform aggregators like BookMyShow before the general release date, trade analysts are predicting a colossal Day 1. Given the sheer volume of screens—totaling over 4,248 shows across India—industry experts estimate that Peddi could see its global opening day gross hit between Rs. 85 crore and Rs. 100 crore by the end of Thursday, June 4.
While the film, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu, faces a hefty global break-even target of around Rs. 450 to Rs. 500 crore, its explosive Day 0 performance has set a rock-solid foundation for a phenomenal box office run.
