Hyderabad, Feb 1: In a major relief to government employees, the Telangana government has released Rs 720 crore towards clearance of long-pending employee bills, following the directions of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
With this release, the entire pending amount of surrender leave encashment from 2022 to February 2025 has been cleared at one time. The funds were released on Saturday evening towards pending bills for the month of January.
The People’s Government has been consistently implementing the assurances given to employee unions. To clear dues accumulated during the previous government’s tenure, the government has been releasing funds every month through a green channel. As promised, more than Rs 700 crore has been released every month towards pending employee bills.
By the end of June last year, Rs 183 crore was released, and from August onwards, at least Rs 700 crore has been released every month.
Apart from surrender leave encashment, the latest release also covers gratuity, GPF, surrender leave and various employee advances, bringing significant financial relief to government employees across the state, according to an official statement on Sunday.
