
New Delhi Feb 5 Meta-owned WhatsApp has given a shock to its customers. Accounts have been banned on a large scale in India. IT Rules 2021 as against. In December 2023, it recently announced that it has banned a record 69 lakh accounts in India. 6,934,000 WhatsApp accounts were banned between December 1 and 31 20606. 2 1,658,000 pre-banned with no user reports. India had over 500 million users in December. According to the report, the messaging giant Ema received a record 16,366 complaints. WhatsApp has taken action on 13 of these reports. “Accounts Actioned” is where remedial action is taken based on user reports. WhatsApp has said that the accounts have been banned based on the complaints received based on the user safety report. It is clear that some of them are based on complaints received from users , while some are banned as per the rules of the company
